Joint call 2025 is coming

The Clean Energy Transition Partnership is currently preparing its fourth annual call, opening on 1 June 2025. The CETPartnership Joint Call 2025 is co-funded by the EU and collaborates with funding organisations and program owners across Europe and beyond. Funding is pooled together to support selected projects, covering a broad variety of technologies and system solutions required to make the green transition.

Although there are many similarities between this year's Joint Call and the 2024 Call, we would like to draw your attention to some vital changes.

This year the timeline is shifted forward, with a Call Launch event on May 28 where applicants can hear more about what this annual call has to offer.  In previous calls, the applicants applied in late fall, whereas now applicants can submit their preproposal from early June until the closing date, in October. (Specific date is to be announced.)

The 2025 Joint Call text is currently in preparation. In the meantime, learn more about the various call modules available for application.

General information about the call process

To cover different topics and RDI types, the Call is structured into Call Modules. They are very in thematic scope and Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs).

Joint Call 2025 is performed in 2 stages: submission of a pre-proposal followed by an invitation to submit a full proposal.

  • Stage 1: Submission of a pre-proposal. A project consortium chooses one Call Module for the pre-proposal. If the pre-proposal is selected, the project consortium is invited to submit a full proposal.
  • Stage 2: Submission of a full proposal. Only if the pre-proposal is invited to participate in Stage 2 can the applicants begin preparing a full proposal.

The Joint Call 2025 is a collaboration with funding organisations and program owners across Europe and beyond. Therefore, applicants must adhere to the national/regional eligibility criteria and requirements, which can be found in the call text. Several funding organisations can require submission of a proposal on a national /regional level. The funding organisations are responsible for processing payments once the projects have been selected for funding after the full proposal stage.

General information about eligibility criteria and requirements

The Call includes the following eligibility criteria and requirements:

  • Transnational eligibility criteria, applicable for all project consortia applying to the Call
  • Call Module requirements, applicable for project consortia applying to Call Modules with specific thematic requirements
  • National/regional requirements, applicable for Partners applying for funding from Funding Agencies in the Call.

All Project Consortium Partners are encouraged to carefully check all eligibility criteria and requirements which will be outlined in the call text. Different Call Modules and different Funding Agencies may support different types if entities, TRLs, etc.
