Call Module 2025-05: Hydrogen and renewable fuels

Funding will be available for research and innovation projects targeting the development and adoption of new and improved technologies for the efficient, cost-effective, and reliable production, transportation, storage, and end-use of hydrogen and renewable fuels in residential, industrial, and mobility sectors. 

The Call Module aims to accelerate the substitution of fossil fuels, contributing to delivering new sustainable and safe solutions to meet the EU's 2030 45% renewable energy mix target. Furthermore, support the policy package “EU Fit for 55” by financing innovation and research to develop and implement technologies for efficient clean production, distribution, storage, and end use of renewable and advanced fuels, hydrogen, and electrofuels. 

The call module targets projects that will end at TRL5 or higher. Activities at lower TRL may be included if they contribute to the higher TRL goal of the overall project. Funded projects are expected to have a significant bearing on accelerating the development and deployment of hydrogen and renewable fuel technologies. As well as contribute to accelerate the adoption of new and cost-effective technologies. Key target groups are research organisations, higher education institutions, and industrial stakeholders.
