CETPartnership Transition Initiative 2 - Advanced renewable energy (RE) technologies for power production - is organising three online sessions about solar, wind and offshore technologies to provide an opportunity to the clean energy research and innovation community to identify critical gaps in R&I for potential collaborative joint projects.

The third panel scheduled on the 4th of December will address offshore renewable energy including a round of interaction with our funded projects. Offshore renewable energy, particularly wind, wave, and tidal power, holds immense potential to contribute to the global transition toward a low-carbon future. As Europe aim to meet ambitious climate targets, offshore renewable energy is becoming increasingly critical. However, realizing this potential involves addressing numerous challenges across technology development, environmental sustainability, and economic viability.

The aim of this workshop is to identify the grand challenges in offshore renewable energy, spanning from technological advancements , sustainability, social acceptance and economics. The workshop will bring renowned international experts and the CETPartnership projects to collaboratively discuss solutions and strategies that can accelerate the deployment of offshore renewable energy while mitigating its environmental impacts.
