TRI 3: Enabling climate neutrality with storage technologies, renewable fuels and CCU/CCS

Accelerating the technologies needed for deep decarbonisation

TRI 3 supports research and innovation projects that develop, demonstrate and validate technologies for energy storage, hydrogen, renewable fuels and carbon capture solutions.

Projects may address technology performance, system integration, infrastructure development, value chain optimisation, market readiness and pathways towards large-scale deployment. Particular emphasis is placed on solutions that can accelerate decarbonisation across industry, transport and energy systems while supporting long-term competitiveness.

The initiative also promotes collaboration across sectors and stakeholders to help bridge the gap between innovation and market uptake, enabling promising technologies to move from demonstration to real-world implementation.
