About the project

SUNLIFE will contribute to the acceleration of the clean energy transition by the development of efficient, sustainable, low-cost, long-life and stable photovoltaic (PV) technologies for outdoor and indoor use. SUNLIFE provides a unique R&I platform for boosting the capability of 6 EU research groups and 1 industry stakeholder focusing on Sb2(S,Se)3 and Se technologies for thin-film solar cells development.

SUNLIFE targets cost reduction in photovoltaic (PV) technologies while maintaining high energy conversion efficiency and demonstrating the integration of these technologies into diverse applications due to their excellent flexibility and versatility. This is achieved through the development of novel, stable, and robust thin-film solar cells based on Sb2(S,Se)3 and elemental Se, which rely on low environmental impact materials and scalable processes.
