About the project
The purpose of the project ‘RENvolveIT – Regional Energy Networking – cross-sectional inVOLVEment through a modular Interactive Toolbox’ is the development of a user-friendly toolbox for energy communities (ECs) to use free of charge. It contains various need-based tools for setting up, growing and running ECs, going beyond technical solutions by considering legal, organisational, and economic aspects.
The objective of RENvolveIT is therefore to establish a comprehensive platform that facilitates networking between interested parties, offers information on how to overcome technical, legal and operational challenges, and integrates practical energy planning and management tools to support heterogeneous RE (renewable energy) projects. Based on a one-stop-shop logic established for permitting procedures, this solution transcends the legal realm, encompassing all stages of the participation process: the toolbox is designed to support ECs from the early stages of orientation and all the way until operationalisation and optimisation.
The RENvolveIT toolbox will be rolled out in pilot sites in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany and the Netherlands, specifically considering the regional context of each pilot’s maturity, their need-owners’ individual requirements, and national legislation.
