About the project
Q-Fibre is an international research project funded by the Clean Energy Transition Partnership under the 2023 joint call (TRI3, CETP-FP-2023-00079), uniting experts from the USA, the Netherlands, and Norway.
The main objective is to realize a quantitative characterization and monitoring toolbox for CO2 storage integrity by exploiting well-borne fibre optic cable data and enabling storage operators to have high confidence in managing the storage integrity.
This innovative approach enables real-time insights into the mechanical integrity of wells and surrounding seals, helping CO2 storage operators detect and respond to potential issues early. By enhancing confidence in subsurface monitoring, Q-Fibre supports safer and more reliable carbon storage—an essential step in the global clean energy transition.
