About the project

EISER aims to develop innovative solutions that make the pulp and paper industry more energy efficient, resource-efficient and resilient. By combining technical development, system integration and industrial symbiosis, the project will develop practical methods and tools that help companies make long-term sustainable decisions. The goal is to reduce energy and water use, strengthen local resilience and create new values in the borderland between industry and society.

EISER is expected to contribute to significantly reduced energy use, reduced water consumption and increased use of residual heat – something that benefits both the climate and the industry’s competitiveness. By creating structured ways of working for industrial symbiosis, the project can strengthen local energy resilience, contribute to reduced emissions and open up for new business models linked to circular resources. The results support several global sustainability goals, in particular SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 9 (Sustainable Industry), SDG 12 (Sustainably Production and Consumption) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). After the end of the project, the results can be implemented broadly and create long-term benefits for both industry and society.
